Finn is an amazing dog who loves his people and will spend his days patrolling the yard when he is not sleeping or up to his goofy antics. Finn is a 50/50 Great Pyrenees/Tibetan Mastiff (~80 lb), approx. 2.5 y.o. (per DNA test), rescued from shelter a year ago. He requires someone experienced with large guardian breeds. He is a fantastic dog, loyal to his people, incredibly sweet and goofy. He loves to patrol and keep watch around the yard but needs large securely fenced yard (6ft min). He rings the bell to go outside. He's remarkably smart and can be left alone, but not confined or in a crate, and he needs stimulation or will find ways to entertain himself. He'll sleep through the night next to your bed and go to his crate 15 min before meals to patiently wait for dinner or breakfast. He does not like gardeners, but if someone comes to the door and knocks, he will sit calmy and greet them. He has lived with 3 dogs (small and mid size) and a cat, and generally loves them all, however, he would be fine as an only dog or would be best with a large calm dog. Does not do well with assertive high anxiety dogs. We have two high anxiety dogs, one who is also high energy and assertive golden retriever, and she does not get along with Finn. After multiple fights that have escalated, they had to be separated. Our daughter was able to temporarily take in our other 2 dogs while we attempted to rehome Finn. During the process my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and we had to place Finn in boarding to address his medical needs. My husband passed, my daughter had a baby and had to return our other dogs. Finn remains in boarding which I can no longer sustain. We are asking for a modest adoption fee of $200 to ensure only serious inquiries. The fee will be donated to a rescue. https://youtube.com/shorts/Als2ZTB6-n8?si=9SWMoy_HbaZZztd3
