It is with the heaviest dog mom heart that I seek your help in rehoming my magical little Genie girl. I rescued her last August (2024) as a tiny puppy from El Paso's Animal Shelter as a furever bestie for my main girl, Jules. For the first year of our coexistence, they were the best of friends but my first dog was always leader of the pack. The past few months have seen a fight for dominance that culminated in a quite terrible quarrel where more than just egos were damaged. After much research, consultations and being a single little lady, I just can't maintain a safe and happy home between the two of them so one must form her own new pack. Genie is still a younger gal in training, she's only around 18 months, while my top dog is over 5 and a pit mix so the baby must go with the hopes of re-homing much easier. Despite her altercation with her ex-bestie, Genie is just an incredible dog but she should probably be your only dog. Believed to be a Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur and Catahoula with one brown eye and one blue/white one, she is highly intelligent, spayed, house broken, crate trained, will fetch for hours and once you become hers, will follow at your heels without any leash needed, she just wants to be by your side. She can sit, stay, leave it and go to her kennel on command, though treats are appreciated. She is a very active dog and needs someone to meet that level, she could run a marathon with or without you. She loves a job and has done amazing around livestock. She also loves to walk and hike and play with other less dominant dogs but she can have separation anxiety so that's why she goes in her kennel when I leave home. She will come with her very large crate, leash, collars, gentle leads, harness, etc. and food and treats for a month to help her transition easier.
