Kamara is waiting for a knight in shining armor to rescue her and take her away from her foster home which, in her mind, is terrible because she sometimes sees other cats down the hall! In Kamara's perfect world, she would live eternally as the last of her kind, and she would never have to encounter another cat. And no dogs either, for that matter. But with quiet humans she is sweet and affectionate, and she just loves to be petted. Open spaces make Kamara feel nervous and unprotected. She doesn't hide so much, as she just wants to be in a smaller space where she feels safe, like a small room, a box, or lounging on a bunk bed or canopy bed. She really loves hanging out in cardboard scratch houses, and bonus if she can watch birds out the window from inside it. But she will come out for pets and attention when you talk to her, and she likes to sleep on the bed with people. Kamara doesn't show much interest in playing. Toys are beneath her dignity. And we can't promise she would protect you from bugs in the house. But she loves to be near her people as a quiet presence, especially if you pet her. And who can resist with her soft satiny coat? She doesn't love being brushed, but she tolerates it well enough and doesn't seem to get mats or hairballs much. Quiet and respectful older kids are fine, but Kamara doesn't appreciate rambunctious behavior. Her ideal home would be with a quiet adult or two who are retired or work from home, and live in a smaller place without any big open rooms. She has lots of love to give when she feels safe and protected.
