German Shepherd

Meet Khan! %BD%BD%90%BE Khan is a loyal and loving German Shepherd looking for a new home where he can thrive. He's intelligent, protective, and loves being with his people. True to his breed, he's both a strong guardian and a big-hearted companion. Khan enjoys spending time with his family, whether it's going for walks, playing, or simply relaxing nearby. He does best in a home where he can have structure, consistency, and lots of love. If you're looking for a devoted, smart, and faithful friend, Khan is ready to be your loyal companion. Khan has a medium-to-high energy level. He loves walks and outdoor time but is also happy to hang out with his people once he's gotten his exercise. He's smart, eager to please, and thrives with structure. Personality-wise, Khan is loyal, watchful, and affectionate with his family. He's protective in the best German Shepherd way, always keeping an eye on things. As for quirks-he has a silly side! Khan loves to carry his toys around like treasures, and he sometimes 'talks back' with playful grumbles and yips when he's excited. Fetch is one of his favorite games, and he takes his role as ball retriever very seriously. A typical day for Khan starts with a good walk-he loves getting outside to stretch his legs and check out the world. During the day, he enjoys being near his people, keeping watch, and joining in on family activities. He's happiest when he has a 'job' to do, even if it's just carrying a toy around or following you from room to room. Khan's favorite activities are walks, fetch, and playtime with his toys (bones and balls). He especially loves toys he can carry around proudly. After play, he's content to relax and soak up attention from his family. Khan would do best in a cat-free home. He has lived with cats before, but due to his strong prey drive and past incidents with kittens and cats, he cannot safely share a household with them. He may do well with a confident dog companion after careful introductions, but his new family should be experienced with German Shepherds or large breeds and committed to giving him the structure and leadership he thrives on. Because of his size and energy level, Khan would do best with adults or families with older children who are comfortable around large dogs. A home with a securely fenced yard where he can exercise would be ideal. Khan's perfect match will be someone who appreciates his loyal, protective nature and can provide him with the exercise, consistency, and attention he needs-without other small animals in the home. Khan has an impressive training background. He was in service dog training with his owner and is very well-mannered in public. He is house-trained, knows many basic commands (sit, stay, heel, come, etc.), and is responsive when handled by someone confident and consistent. In public settings, Khan shows excellent focus and obedience. At home, he benefits from structure and clear leadership. He is crate trained and settles best after exercise. On leash, he is strong but manageable, especially with an experienced handler. Khan's main behavioral challenge is his prey drive toward cats, which is why he is being rehomed. He must be placed in a cat-free household. With the right environment-one that gives him daily exercise, mental stimulation, and firm but loving guidance-Khan will continue to be the devoted, well-trained companion he was meant to be. Khan is not neutered, is not up to date on vaccinations, and is not microchipped. He does not have any known medical conditions or special dietary needs. To conclude; Khan does not have medical or dietary special needs. His primary consideration is behavioral: he has a strong prey drive and cannot live in a home with cats or small animals. He requires a confident, experienced handler who can provide structure, daily exercise, and ongoing training.
