She has bounced back & forth and has grown up in a cement cell. Thankfully, she has some awesome volunteer and staff friends who try to keep her spirits bright! Henrietta's story starts on May 1, 2025, when she arrived at the North Central Shelter as a wee baby along with a sibling. Quickly adopted and then discarded just a few weeks later on May 22nd for being 'Destructive.'(which puppies can get into everything if no training occurs) She was adopted that very same day and was in a home until July 31st, when her owner fell ill. Baby Henrietta found herself back in the shelter and under a 'Personal Property' hold that lasted 30 days! Sadly, neither the next of kin nor the owner came back for her. Between May 22nd and July 31st, something must have happened to baby Henrietta. She arrived with a 'head tilt' that we cannot explain? Medical: Head tilted toward the left - not apparent neurological abnormalities at this time. Schedule for radiographs for additional diagnostic. Unable to look into ears at this time due to FAS (fear anxiety stress). Head tilt, possibly ear canal inflammation vs. neurological condition. More diagnostics required, schedule to sedate for radiographs and otoscope exam. Volunteer notes: She was excited to run, fetch and play with toys in the yard. She likes to come in for pets and treats and is very gentle with both. Sweet girl with great personality! Easy to leash when tossed a treat. Took her to the remodeled play yard. She ran around in excitement and came towards me when called. Knows sit, down, spin around commands. After 15min play she took few minutes for a break, sat down, had water. Back to playing for another few minutes and eventually she sat down until the rest of walk. The head tilting throughout the walk was less apparent then previous walks. Easy return. This little girl is more than deserving and has been waiting patiently to be chosen! FOR GOOD! Volunteers and staff LOVE her to pieces, and we would love nothing more than to see this little doll make it out ASAP!
