Ellie is our family dog that we have had since 16 weeks old. She is a female miniature (about 45 pounds) Blue Merle Australian Shepherd. She is spayed and her birthday is December 1, 2018. She has always been an inside only dog. She is crate trained and house trained. She does well on a leash (pulls at times) and does listen off-leash as well. She knows basic commands. She has lived in a house with another female, spayed dog - and with a female, spayed cat. Ellie does show dominance at times around other dogs, but has never attacked another dog (growls and barks mostly). She is good with older children who can allow her to have space and get to know them before approaching her. Unfortunately, she has started to show aggression towards our toddler (19 month old). Our toddler doesn't know the concept of 'space', because well, she is a toddler. We cannot keep her any longer because we simply can't trust her around our toddler anymore. We are heartbroken, as our pets were our first 'babies'. We want her to go to a loving home. Preferably someone who knows the breed. We are asking a rehoming fee of $250 to ensure she goes to a good home. Please give our Ellie Maybelle a chance and put our minds at ease knowing that she will go to a loving home.
