About Dorian

Border Collie / Great Pyrenees
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Dorian was born 6/27/24 to two of our family dogs (Wren, a purebred Border Collie and Leo, a Great Pyrenees with a little Australian Shepherd). He is one of 2 puppies we kept in our family. Unfortunately, he and his littermate (also a male) do NOT get along at all and it has been worsening over time. They are both very dominant, resource-guarding, and jealous of one another. It is no longer safe for us to keep the two of them together (especially as their fights often trickle over to our other dogs) and we are urgently looking for a new family for Dorian. He is the sweetest, most loving boy who wants nothing more than to cuddle with someone - he will curl up at your feet if he can't sit on your lap. He is gentle with his human family members, including our youngest kids, and fine with our cats, but he is very unpredictable with other dogs, even on walks. Some dogs he is fine with, others he is reactive. He can also be reactive with strangers if not introduced slowly and carefully. He will resource guard food, toys, and especially people - he is both very protective and he wants all the love and attention for himself! For that reason, we hope to find a family who has no other dogs. He also needs access to the outdoors, either a fenced yard (which he has now) or at least several walks a day - he has all the energy of both breeds and likes to have something to do. He won't be happy in an apartment or with a family who is gone much of the day. Despite his conflicts, he is a very social dog and will cry if he's alone for too long. We are all very attached to him and have tried to avoid rehoming but we don't want him or his brother to get hurt. :( Please text me if you think you might be a good fit. If you are within a 90 mile radius of Binghamton, we'd be happy to meet halfway to see if you click. (607) 821-9506
