Meet Monty - The Three-Legged Champ with a Heart Full of Love! Monty's story started rough, but this resilient boy has turned every challenge into triumph. He came to Citrus County Animal Services after what was likely a car accident and one of his legs had to be amputated. But don't tell Monty that makes him any less of a dog - he's living proof that joy, strength, and love come from the heart, not how many legs you have. Now fully healed and full of life, Monty greets every day with a smile and a wag. He's friendly, social, and loves spending time with both people and dogs - in playgroups, he's the perfect mix of fun and manners, enjoying the company of males and females alike. After playtime, he's happiest relaxing next to his handler for some well-earned cuddles. Monty attended a recent adoption event and was friendly, calm, interactive, and content. He met the public politely, adults and kids alike! He topped that off by spending the night with a shelter volunteer who gave him rave reviews -- sweet, playful, good listener, rode like a dream in the car, loved playing with toys and the resident dog, paid no attention to the cat, loved snuggling on the couch, no accidents in the home - gave signals when he needed out. To sum it up, a perfect balance of playful and calm. Monty is listed in the age range of 6 mos.-2 yrs., weighs, 41 lbs., is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested and vaccinated.
