About Astra

Astra is a 4 year old female purebred Blue Merle with beautiful white/brown/black coloring. She comes from a loving home and we have been her only owners since she was a few weeks oly. The only reason we are seeking re-homing for her is because our 1-year old son has developed allergies to her shedding fur and dander and having her in our home is not feasible anymore :( She loves being outdoors: going on walks around the neighborhood, hikes through the woods or playing fetch at the park. Astra is very energetic and playful, and is very sweet and loving with both adults and children once she gets to know them (which happens quickly). She gets nervous/anxious around unfamiliar people and dogs, and has nipped the ankles of a few people by whom she felt threatened or felt were threatening people she loves/protects. She would do best in a fenced in yard (or at least an electric fence) and is completely house-trained and great in the car. Astra knows and obeys many commands, like sit, stay, come, drop it, paw, jump, turn around, bark, lay down, leave it, go to your bed etc. Astra is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on her rabies vaccination and heartworm treatment (and nearly up to date on all others -- we are happy to get her fully up to date before re-homing).
