Neutered Male | ~90 lbs | Black Lab Mix | 2-3 Years Old Mallard is a big, gentle sweetheart who's wrapping up his time in the Arkansas shelter system and hoping to catch a ride to Wisconsin with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on Saturday, November 8th - but he needs a foster or adopter to make that possible! Originally found as a stray, Mallard has come a long way. He recently completed heartworm treatment and is officially healthy, happy, and ready for the next chapter of his life. He is currently being boarded at a vet clinic while he waits for his freedom ride. This well-behaved Black Lab mix is the total package: Neutered and fully vetted Knows basic commands like 'sit' and 'kennel' Loves treats, giving hugs, and being near his people Great with kids - currently being fostered with a 6- and 10-year-old Dog-friendly (has done well in group settings) Still learning how to walk nicely on a leash, but improving with practice At around 90 lbs, Mallard is a gentle giant with a calm, affectionate temperament. He's passed the puppy phase and is ready for a home where he can be part of the family - whether that means lounging at your feet, hanging out with the kids, or joining in on everyday adventures. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. �'��3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old. **Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
