About Luna

Luna is a very playful dog, that loves to run around the yard and go for walks! She is AKC registered and comes from a champion bloodline and the pedigree can be provided upon request. She has been great with us and with our kids, but has been diagnosed with a genetic general anxiety disorder. She has snapped towards adult strangers who have specifically reached for her while she was on leash. She has not been aggressive to us or our kids, but rather had been extremely sweet and caring with us. She also comfortable with a couple other people outside of our immediate family and has been able to stay with them for short trips as well. We've been working on socializing her with adult strangers according to the advice of her Veterinarian Behaviorist. With our hectic lifestyle, with kids and traveling we are afraid that our home isn't the best fit to help her manage her anxiety. She is on fluoxetine which has reduced her level of anxiety as well as having more safe spaces for her to be alone. Still, it seems she would be better served in a home without kids and one that travels less. We can give a detailed overviews of her behavior assessments from her Veterinarian behaviorist at Veterinary Behavior of Indiana. Care from them can be transferred over so her medications and continued care continue. While she is located in Indiana, we are partnering with the Chow rescue of Missouri, so upon contacting us, you will be sent an adoption application that after filling out, we can look over. Fee will be donated to the Chow Rescue of Missouri.
