About Honey

Meet Honey! This beautiful 1.6-year-old Coonhound is looking for a structured, understanding home. She is a deeply loving, highly sensitive, and eager-to-please companion. She is house-trained, spayed, and up-to-date on all vaccines. She is a large, sturdy girl, measuring approximately 24 inches long and 21 inches high at the shoulder, and weighing 55 lbs. Honey is incredibly food-driven, which makes positive reinforcement training highly effective. She is intelligent and ready to bond closely with her new people. I am seeking a specialist foster/adopter because her energy levels and size have surpassed what I can adequately provide for. What started as finding a 'beagle' on the highway at ~4 months old has turned into a larger commitment than I can take on at the moment. Reactivity Disclosure: Due to her high sensitivity and history of fear-based resource guarding (especially around her den/crate) she has given a warning nip in the past when her boundaries were crossed, specifically when a person approached her face too quickly. Honey deserves an owner who respects her need for space and can provide a consistent, predictable environment.
