About Badger

Badger was supposed to quietly die at the shelter. Listed as an 8-year-old husky mix, he arrived stiff, skinny, frozen in fear, and barely moving. I honestly thought he was even older and possibly a hospice case. | But once I placed him with younger dogs, something changed. Little by little, Badger rediscovered his youthful spirit and now feels like a completely different dog. He follows the dogs around the property, splashes in the pond, goes on walks with me, and genuinely seems happy to be alive again. | I do not know his exact age, but I genuinely believe he is younger than the shelter estimated and he clearly still has a lot of life left in him. He currently weighs around 60 lbs. | Badger walks beautifully on leash, is very food motivated, and is fantastic with other dogs. He especially loves puppies and lets them climb all over him and even steal his food. | He did eventually learn how to climb out of the 6-foot chain link kennel, because husky, but unlike a typical husky he has absolutely no desire to run off or disappear. He mostly stays near the kennel area, follows me on walks, or goes to the pond for a quick dip before returning.
