We are in the terrible situation of needing to rehome our terrier Humphrey (5.5 yrs 14lbs). He's a wonderful companion who is playful, loves sleeping in, and cuddling. We have had Humphrey for 5 years and the only reason we need to rehome him is because of his territorial issues when both of us are home (male, female couple). Humphrey can get territorial (growl, bark, jump) when sitting with his owner and approached by another household member. However, this behavior seems to be dependent on the owner. He is currently with a foster home and has been there for three months and he has not exhibited territorial or aggressive behavior (foster home included one female adult, one male adult, one pit bull mix (14 yr, 40 lbs) and one chihuahua (5 yr, 13 lbs)). We are family planning and given his unpredictable behavior with us, we can no longer have him. We think he would do well in a single owner home. He is ok with other dogs and is very curious about cats. He is a sweet, loving dog and we would very much like to keep him out of a shelter until he finds a new forever home.
