Lucy. approximately 2-3 year old female Great Dane. spayed & UTD on vet care, vaccines & preventatives. Housebroken (though she sometimes needs a little nudge to get off the couch!) Crate trained. Good with other dogs but doesn't need them to be happy. Likely good with cats. Gentle and patient enough for kids. Would thrive in a calm, quiet home. Located outside Athens, GA. We adopt nationwide Meet Lucy - an approximately 2 to 3 year old Great Dane with a heart as big as her paws. When Lucy first arrived at animal control as a stray, she was heartbreakingly underweight: nearly 20 pounds below a healthy size. After months of love, care, and snacks, she's up to 105 pounds and looking (and feeling!) wonderful. Lucy's a sensitive soul who adores affection and calm company. Her ideal day includes a nap on the couch, a slow stroll, and as many cuddles as you can offer. She's quiet (her foster family hasn't heard her bark once!), low-energy, and happiest simply being near, or on top of, her people. Though shy at first, Lucy bonds deeply. She's praise-driven and eager to please, and she gets along well with other dogs and will run and play when the mood strikes, but she's just as content as your one-and-only. If you're looking for a gentle, soulful companion who's overcome a tough start with quiet grace, Lucy might just be the perfect match. Lucy is spayed & UTD on vet care, vaccines and preventatives. She is currently being fostered near Athens, GA. We adopt NATIONWIDE but require adopters to travel to the foster home with their current dog(s) (to ensure they will be friends) to pick up. Out of respect for our foster family's time and privacy, we do not arrange meet-and-greets without an approved application on file.
