About Jaxon

Jaxson is social, outgoing, affectionate, and full of charm. He's the perfect size at about 35 lbs with a medium length, silky coat and hes one year and two months old. He seems to like everyone he meets. He immediately settled into his foster home and became his foster mom's shadow. He's active and playful; he likes to tug and fetch the ball. He loves to romp and play hard with other dogs, but he will respect their boundaries if they've had enough. He is house-trained and accepts a crate quietly enough. He knows 'sit' and has a decent recall and is working on learning 'down', 'wait'. and 'off'. He needs some work with leash walking but does well off-leash, not wandering too far and is quick to return, especially if a treat is involved. He is food-motivated, eager to please, and leans fast, so training is a breeze. He is currently staying on a farm with chickens, sheep, donkeys, dogs, and cats. He is certainly interested in the animals and might like to chase the chickens and cats, more out of curiosity than anything, But he does not try to grab them and is easily deterred. He is much more focused on his people than livestock or chasing 'varmints'. Jaxson wants an active household where he gets daily exercise and playtime, including mental stimulation and opportunities to run free and play with other active dogs. He will want to be closely involved in all happenings. He would make a great hiking/biking/running companion or agility partner. At the end of the day, he is happy to settle down at your feet (or your lap, if you will). He is kissy and snuggly. His history with children is unknown, but he is confident and well-adjusted, and apart from some excitability, quite gentle. With proper training and supervision, he will likely do well with children 6 and up. He should meet any children in the family prior to adoption. He is being fostered in Aurora, OR. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and has a microchip. His adoption fee is $400.
