Courtesy Posting: X URGENT- DEVORE, CA, So Cal - SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY ANIMAL CARE - ID #A831761 'HERSHEY', an ADORABLE, YOUNG CHOW X BOY EXPECTED TO BE ADDED TO EUTHANASIA LIST IN NEXT FEW DAYS- ALREADY MADE RESCUE ONLY BEFORE HIS STRAY HOLD IS UP BECAUSE HE WAS SCARED ON INTAKE but APPEARS VERY FRIENDLY AND GENTLE in VIDEO - Please help us find a chow savvy foster or foster to adopt, and rescue asap before he is euthanized, off stray hold on 11/4 This adorable boy, fondly named Hershey by the shelter, came in as a stray on 10/29, and was noted as being 'defensive'. However, we were given video showing him happily approaching the kennel fence and wagging his tail the next day, and even trying to give gentle kisses through the fence. The shelter estimates he's is 2 years old, and he has a beautiful brindle coat and fluffy tail. His tongue is darker like a chow. Unfortunately, Hershey has already been made 'Rescue only' meaning only a rescue group can pull him out of the shelter (he cannot be adopted directly from the shelter at this time (unless they later change his status), you need to go through a rescue group) to save him. However, rescues need fosters and a place for a dog to go. We will be posting his friendly video of Hershey on this facebook post. This shelter makes many fearful or shy or defensive dogs Rescue only and then makes available for euthanasia at any time. prior to his stray hold and a proper assessment. We have requested an assessment but are unclear if one will be done, or if they will change his status. Therefore, we are desperately looking for a chow savvy home, or foster and or rescue to save Hershey in time.
