About Louie

Louie is a 9-month-old Shih Tzu pup who is discovering what it means to be a happy, loved dog. He came to us through another rescue that needed a little help, and we were glad to step in for this sweet boy. Louie spent his early months in a breeding facility, so when he arrived, he was matted, dirty, urine-stained, and struggling with ear infections. After a good grooming, medical care, and lots of TLC, he's now clean, healthy, and ready to find his forever home! Louie has been learning all about life in a home with his foster family-and he's doing wonderfully. He's housetrained as long as he can go outside every few hours, and he loves to play with toys. Like any young pup, he still needs plenty of appropriate things to chew on. Louie gets along great with other dogs and would love to have another young dog his size to romp around with. His playful zoomies and joyful bounces are absolutely adorable to watch! He's still learning to trust people and understand that gentle hands bring love, not fear, so his ideal family will be patient, kind, and generous with cuddles. Louie will also need a physically fenced yard, as he's still figuring out what a leash is and why it's attached to him. Louie is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations.
