Meet Arwen, a bright and beautiful 3-year-old blue heeler/husky mix who's as intelligent as she is affectionate. Arwen is a loving, playful dog who thrives when she's mentally and physically engaged. She loves training drills, playing fetch, tug, and flirt pole, swimming, running, and learning new tricks - she's the kind of dog who wants a job to do and would likely excel at sports like agility, rally, or scent work. At home, Arwen is calm, talkative, and affectionate with her people. She lives peacefully with another dog and a cat after a long, structured introduction process - proof of her ability to learn and adapt with patient, consistent training. Arwen does have some behavioral needs. She is reactive toward strangers and other dogs, both inside and outside the home. When unfamiliar people enter the house, she barks and may nip if not managed with a leash or separate space. On walks, she can lunge or bark when other dogs are nearby. I am confident that these behavioral issues would resolve quickly with the help of a professional trainer. She is very motivated and engaged once she trusts others. It only takes a few days for her to warm up. Arwen is looking for an experienced, patient handler who understands reactive dogs and can continue her training with structure and positive reinforcement. She's incredibly smart, eager to work, and highly trainable - she just needs the right environment and leadership to thrive. She would do best in a quiet, adult-only home, ideally with secure outdoor space and someone who enjoys active training and dog sports. Arwen has an enormous amount of potential and so much love to give once she feels safe and understood.
