About Aslan

LOCATION: Pueblo, CO DOB: 04/30/2025 Meet Aslan, a sweet and smart Great Dane/Shepherd mix puppy who is equal parts cuddle bug and goofball. He's still finding his confidence and can be a little skittish when approached head-on, but his gentle, loving nature shines through as soon as he feels comfortable. Aslan is a total Velcro pup-he wants nothing more than to be close to his people, preferably snuggled right up against them on the couch. This boy is playful, curious, and eager to please. He already knows sit and down, though 'stay' is still a bit of a challenge with all that puppy excitement. Food is definitely the way to his heart, and he'll happily work for treats. Aslan's energy is moderate; he loves to play and explore, but he's also quick to settle down when it's time to relax. One of his cutest quirks is how he mirrors the mood of the room-if you're calm, he's calm; if you're playful, he's right there with you. Aslan is doing wonderfully with house training, though he doesn't yet signal when he needs to go out, so he relies on his people to help keep him on track. He rides well in the car (he thinks the front seat is his spot!) and is comfortable in his crate, especially when it's near his people. Like any growing pup, he's still working through a few puppy behaviors like counter surfing, shoe curiosity, and mouthing, but he's easily redirected and learning quickly. He loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine buddy to play with and help boost his confidence. He's met children as young as a toddler and, after some initial caution around big, fast movements, has adjusted well-though he's still a bit clumsy with his size and sometimes forgets just how big he's getting. He hasn't met cats yet, but with supervision and guidance, he'd likely do well after an enthusiastic first introduction. Baths aren't his favorite, but he's cooperative and patient, even for nail trims. He does need his people nearby when he goes outside and makes it clear that he's not meant to be an outdoor dog-he's happiest as part of the family, right where the action is. Aslan's perfect home would be one filled with people to love and, ideally, another dog to show him the ropes and keep him company.
