About Zoe

Lab / Rottweiler
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Zoe supposedly had a loving home for most of her life (doubts about this as x-rays show pellet lodged deep in her chest), but her owner was sentenced to a lengthy prison sentence (longer than Zoe's life expectancy) and she was left in the care of her previous owner's brother. Unfortunately, Zoe was put in the back yard of her empty home at that point and she was abandoned. She eventually began escaping her yard in search of food, always returning. She was extremely underweight by this point and was picked up by animal control. She spent a month in the shelter before being scheduled to be euthanized. Taken in as a foster instead, Zoe is now at a beautiful and healthy weight. She is well behaved and good with all people, including children. She is unpredictable with other dogs though, and needs a home without other pets. She is potty trained, spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on shots, and in good health (some mild arthritis). She has been extremely difficult to place due to her age (6-8 years) and requirement for a home without other dogs. As such, the organization that once fostered her has requested she be placed back in the shelter. The shelter is currently facing serious over crowding and euthanizing dogs as they come in.
