I found Max on 9/25/25 tied to a fence in a park near our house while out walking our dogs. I called ACCT to come get him, but they never showed, so i took him to a vet to get checked for a chip, but no luck and brought him home to stay in our yard until we could figure something out. We already have rescued 3 dogs and two cats that live in our house, and have their own dog reactive issues we are working on. I brought Max to the vet for a full checkup and vaccinations - he's completely healthy and estimated to be between 1-2 years old about 104 pounds. It's clear Max has had training. He walks beautifully on a leash, knows basic commands like sit, shake, and lie down, he's fully housebroken, and crate trained. Around his person, Max is incredibly loving, loyal, affectionate, playful and has had daily great interacts with other people and animals. When he's with his person, he's friendly and social with everyone. However, Max is also protective of his person and has bitten two people on the hand.(both times he warned person first)When left alone, he can become defensive if strangers try to handle or command him. My wife and I have reached out to multiple rescues and was told none would take him until he went through ACCT's 72 hr stray hold. We took him in, but when we called back the next day we were told he was going to be put down for showing aggression when being taken back to his cage, so we picked him back up and are still trying to find help for him. I feel Max deserves to live but need help as we don't really have any place for him and we feel he needs experienced help we cannot provide and ultimately an experienced owner, but can see what an amazing dog he is. In the right environment, he'll be the most loyal companion you could ask for.
