Female chow mix with beautiful brindle color, may be part boxer? In the shelter's own words, they describe Canela as 'A Gentle Soul Looking for Love. Shy and sweet, Canela is a quiet girl who just needs a little patience and a lot of love. She's nervous in new situations and takes time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she gently seeks out affection. Canela walks nicely on leash once outside and feels safest around calm, gentle humans. Other dogs make her uneasy so she prefers to keep her distance and needs a home where she can be the only pet. She has a low energy level and no interest in rough play - just peaceful vibes, soft beds, and a kind heart to call her own. Canela was recently surrendered to this kill shelter for landlord reasons as she spent most of her time outside where they are building a house in the back, so they want her gone. Sadly, she was surrendered to a high kill shelter who is overfull and she was expediated to the euth list as an owner surrender. The prior owner had positive things to say about her and she had lived with children as young as 4 years - 16 years old, despite the shelter saying to children. The owner stated she is 'really kind, playful, cute, and doesn't make that much mess.'
