We are looking for a new home for Lily, our beloved nearly two-year-old Corgi-Yorkie mix (Corkie). Due to a large out-of-country move, we believe it's in Lily's best interest to find a family who can provide her with a stable and loving environment. Our priority is finding the perfect long-term home for her. Lily thrives on attention and enjoys ample space to run. She would ideally be an only dog, as she tends to be a little dominant, especially with female dogs smaller than her, and can become envious of other pets, always wanting to be your number one. In return, she offers endless affection and deep eye contact. However she has historically done well particularly with other male dogs. She is good with adults and our cat but has limited experience with children. Lily is highly intelligent and quickly forms a strong bond with one person, following them devotedly once she considers them 'her person.' She dislikes being alone and may whine or cry initially when left, though she settles down. Lily would flourish in a home with a farm or a large, fenced yard, given her youth and love for running and playing. She is prone to running off if not leashed or in a secured area but is very smart and trainable. She is also goofy, and highly motivated by walks and treats. Due to her strong food drive, we are unsure how she would react to a young child holding food, but she is generally well-behaved. She is a strong, healthy, and happy pup who loves to snuggle. She is somewhat crate-trained overnight and does ok, especially if a light is left on, however much prefers cuddling in the crook of your knees at night for sleep. We will be very sad to see Lily go, but it would bring us immense relief to know she has found the right family. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like more information.
