Storm is searching for a very special home??. He is an 18 month old Mini Schnauzer who weighs 10 pounds. Sadly, Storm spent his first year and a half of life living in an outdoor kennel alongside his brothers. His breeder was unable to care for them any longer and surrendered them to rescue. Now, Storm is on a gentle journey to learn how to be a house dog. He will thrive best with a patient family who can provide a calm, loving environment and the time he needs to feel safe and secure????. Storm is gradually discovering how to trust humans, often following a confident doggy of similar size. He is currently learning crate and potty training, and so far, he has had no accidents with regular outdoor breaks. Storm is comfortable with other dogs and is unsure of cats but we think he would do okay with them. He has a tendency to run away from humans, so a home without small children and a securely fenced yard are essential for his safety. He's a bit unsure about leash walking but, with patience and gentle guidance, he will learn once he feels comfortable. His new family will need to understand that building his trust and helping him become a companion is a gradual process, which might take months. His foster mom is happy to share tips on how she's helped him learn to trust and relax. He was a little nervous around groomers at first, but with patience, he did very well. Storm simply needs a caring family to give him the time, patience, and love he deserves to blossom into a happy, confident companion??. Storm is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
