About Rosita

URGENT - Rosita Needs a Foster, Adopter, or Rescue by October 25th at 4 PM Rosita (A278482) is a 1.5-year-old Heeler mix weighing about 40 pounds. She first came to the shelter as a terrified stray in December 2024, having had very little human contact. Despite her fearful beginnings, Rosita made amazing progress, learning to walk on a leash and trusting a small circle of friends. She was adopted in June 2025, but heartbreakingly returned to the shelter in August when her adopters could no longer care for her. Sadly, life in the kennel has been extremely hard on Rosita. The stress has caused her to regress-she now spends much of her day spinning and circling in her kennel, a sign of deep anxiety and confusion. Still, her gentle spirit remains. Rosita is dog-friendly, enjoys treats, and is slowly relearning that people can be kind and safe. Outside the shelter, Rosita blossoms. She needs a patient, loving home that will give her time and space to open up. She would do best in a calm environment with another confident dog to help her feel secure and continue building her confidence. Rosita's life depends on finding a foster, adopter, or rescue by Friday, October 25th at 4 PM. She has already shown incredible resilience and just needs someone to believe in her again.
