She's the kind of dog who wins you over instantly with her gentle, affectionate nature and her love of being close to her people. Tallulah is especially sweet with children-she truly feels safest and happiest around them-and she's incredibly patient and loving with the little ones in her foster home. Tallulah has an easygoing, moderate energy level. She loves a good walk or a romp around the backyard chasing squirrels and rabbits, but she also knows how to settle in and relax once playtime is over. She enjoys toys, long walks, and cuddling up afterward. You'll often find her sprawled in silly positions on the floor, earning smiles from everyone who sees her. She's a total ham and a devoted shadow who follows her family from room to room just to be near them. This sweet girl does well with other animals, including cats-she's calm and respectful with them, even when they're still warming up to her. She's also done great with other dogs and would likely enjoy a friendly canine companion, especially a laid-back male. She's house-trained, walks nicely on leash, and rides well in the car once she's inside (she's still getting used to hopping in). Tallulah is a bit timid in new situations and tends to be cautious with unfamiliar sights and sounds. She's particularly shy around men at first, though she's never shown aggression-she just takes her time to warm up. With a steady routine and gentle reassurance, she blossoms into the confident, loving dog she's meant to be. She's crate-trained and will go into her crate willingly, especially if there's a peanut butter-filled Kong waiting for her. However, she does bark or cry after a bit if left alone too long, so she'd thrive in a home where someone is around during the day or where she has another dog for company.
