About Maverick

Maverick is a 10 month old golden retriever born on 12/6/24. He's a sweet dog who came from a neglectful puppy mill, he was rescued after living there his whole life. Although he had a traumatic upbringing he is a very trusting and sweet dog. He warms up to new people almost instantly. He will be your shadow, sleep at your feet, and cuddle nonstop. Because of his upbringing, he can only go to a home with no other dogs. Dog barking makes him very nervous. He is also very anxious of his own reflection, and he will bark at himself. All you need to do is talk to him in a calm voice and reassure him that he's safe. With some work and time I'm sure he will grow out of it. He's still a puppy. He is friendly toward other dogs, but being in a multi-dog home stresses him out. He needs to be in a home where he's not left alone much, preferably with atleast one person home with him. Maverick's tail is broken from an unknown injury he received when he was younger, the vet said the injury doesn't bother him and it's now healed, his tail is just slightly more tucked than normal. This boy needs lots of love and care, he is a sweet angel and needs to live a calm, exciting, stress free life where he's allowed to be a dog.
