About Cru

Our family has an 11 month old Australian Shepard Mix that needs to be surrendered. We have had him since he was 3 months old. He has been one of the best dogs we have had for our family. His name is Cru. Two weeks ago we had an incident happen where Cru bit my niece while they were playing. It was a complete shock to us that he bit her as they were playing so well before the bite happened. My niece had pushed some ice under him during playing which I think is what triggered him to bite. (Cru loves ice and loves chewing on ice). He has never bit anyone prior to that incident. Animal control came and put Cru on a 10 day quarantine. His quarantine ended on Wednesday, October 8. Cru did great during quarantine and has had no issues since. We have decided to surrender him after a few long discussions with our family. We are very sad that it has come to this decision but know it is the right thing to do at this point. He is up to date on all of his shots. He is crate trained, knows basic commands, potty trained, loves to play fetch, great with other dogs and people, and has a lot of love to give. I feel he deserves a second chance. I have to say that he would be fine with older kids as he has never shown aggression towards anyone until this incident.
