BDRA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charity that accepts no fees when helping individuals or other rescues. 100% of donations go directly to the care of the animals. If you'd like to help us continue our mission, please donate at: https://www.blinddogrescue.org/donate-1. Name: Toast Age: 5 years Breed: Lab Mix, possibly Spitz, 80 pounds Sex: Male (neutered) Location: Volusia County, Florida Toast's owner has moved and is unable to keep Toast where owner has moved. Vet Info: Toast is partially blind, he is microchipped and neutered. He is not current with vaccinations, nor has he had a recent heartworm test. Dog Info: Toast is described as a wonderful, goofy and extremely empathetic guy. He is loving and sweet. Owner has a service dog, as well, and owner feels that Toast would easily be able to become a service dog as well. Owner feels that Toast detects low sugar levels just as well as her service dog. He is housebroken but not leash trained. He knows the commands sit and shake. He is very outgoing and is great with men, women and children of all ages. He is good with female dogs and cats - owner does not know about male dogs because he hasn't been exposed to them but feels that he probably would be. Toast's vision is good enough during the day but he currently relies on owner's service dog at night. Owner does not know the cause of his vision loss because his previous owner never told her - if they even knew. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them. These dogs are with their owners and are not in BDRA foster homes. We do our best to screen these dogs, but make no guarantees regarding the information posted.** Please email [email protected] if you are interested in this sweetheart. Please know that we will ask for a vet reference.
