TEX NEEDS A HERO Howell, NJ (Monmouth County)'4 years old ' 37 lbs ' Red Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) Neutered Male Tex's story is one that breaks your heart - and yet, it's not over. He was saved from the euthanasia list at a crowded North Carolina shelter, near a military base where he'd been dumped and forgotten. He was given a second chance and brought all the way to New Jersey but that 'second chance' turned into a year in a boarding kennel. A year imagine sitting behind a fence, day after day, watching every friend you make get adopted and leave. Waiting, hoping, but never being the one chosen. He started to lose hope you could see it in his eyes - but then, a miracle: Tex finally got out! A foster home! Freedom! Soft beds, walks, people of his own. But sadly'| it didn't last. Through no fault of his own, Tex is back in a kennel and going stir crazy, especially after he got some freedom. The rescue refuses to give up on him and neither will we. 'Tex is an incredible, loyal, smart boy who just needs the right match. Think of it like pairing an Avatar with his dragon- he just hasn't met his person yet. But when he does, it'll be magic.
