URGENT: Sophie Needs a Foster or Adopter by Oct 21 at 4PM Sophie (A276630) has a deadline of October 21 at 4PM. If she does not secure a foster, adopter, or rescue commitment by then, she will be humanely euthanized. Sophie is a gentle 1 year, 7-month-old German Shepherd mix, approximately 45 lbs, and spayed. She was returned through no fault of her own when her foster sadly could no longer keep her, and now she urgently needs a calm, loving home. She has spent much of her young life in the shelter, and the stress is taking a toll on her. She is dog-friendly and gains confidence from other dogs, doing best with confident, friendly canine companions. She is also cat-friendly, having lived with cats before. Sophie is warm with women and children but timid with men; however, she will warm up with time and patience. She is housebroken, walks great on a leash, and loves car rides, grooming, and being pampered. Sophie is sweet, shy, and gentle-she just needs a patient home where she can decompress and learn to trust again. Sophie would thrive in a home with other confident dogs who can help her come out of her shell or with a patient adopter willing to give her the stability and understanding she needs.
