Meet Ren !! This guy was adopted from a shelter with his brother back in 2018 and then recently both were dumped back there where they were close to being euthanized for space. Poor guy is looking for a stable family that will be loyal to him and return his love. Although he came to us with his brother Stimpy, they were clearly showing littermate syndrome issues that resolved once separated. They are far happier apart and are able to relax and live their own lives now. (His brother Stimpy is posted separately.) Ren is an 8 year old, male, chihuahua mix. He weighs 17 Pounds and is full grown. He could lose a pound or two he's on the chunky side. He is already neutered, up to date on vaccines microchipped. He is thankfully Heartworm negative and on preventions. When they arrived, we could immediately see the signs of littermate syndrome. Stimpy was the dominant one and Ren was the submissive one. Ren wasn't able to be his own dog due to his brother being overbearing. Now that they are apart he's a happy loving boy. Ren has turned into a really easy going guy now. His foster says he's a very well mannered boy. He loves hanging out with his people. He loves everyone and does the cutest little spin when you get home to show you he's happy to see you. He has been doing really well with potty training so far. He was great on car rides just a little panting. He will sit on your lap or on the floor board and chill for the ride. He is good on a leash as well. He is crate trained but likely would do fine without one. Ren does well with other dogs. He really doesn't care about the dogs around him and gives them a little sniff then goes on his way. He does get a little afraid if big dogs try to play with him but nothing aggressive he just screams. We haven't seen him with cats but we suspect he would do well. He is not fostered with kids but we think he would do well with kids old enough and respectful enough to not treat him like a toy. He has a low to medium energy level. He's becoming a little more energetic as he comes out of his shell, but mostly likes to hang out in your lap or near you. A fairly low key guy that's great for a senior or family that isn't looking for a lot of energy. He has not shown any aggression over treats or toys with dogs or humans. He is fed separately at his foster home so we haven't tested the food issue with other dogs but he's fine with people around his food. Ren is such a good boy. He has a sweet gentle nature and is extremely loving. He's looking for a nice warm lap to hang out on and a new best friend. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA.
