About Lexi

Adoption Fee: $25
Great Pyrenees / Lab
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Lexi is a 5 year old Great Pyrenees and Lab mix. We are looking for a new home for Lexi with no children as we have struggled with an issue of her nipping at our son's face multiple times over the last 3 years, usually hard enough to draw blood. It is likely due to resource guarding as she also is aggressive toward our Golden Retriever during meal times, but it usually seems unprovoked and we are not able to manage it any longer with our children reaching the age to be unsupervised at home and having more friends visit. We attempted re-homing before with no luck as our local shelters are all no-kill and they have no room to take her with her history. If we are not able to find a new home for her, we are considering euthanasia. She was raised in our home from age 6 weeks with our family of 4. Lexi's temperament leans toward the typical GP. She is sweet and stubborn. She loves to be pet and lay around all day and bark at 'threats' pretty regularly. She has been trained on basic commands. She needs a fenced in yard/pasture as she will run through an underground fence. She loves being outside but is currently mostly indoors as we have close neighbors and her barking habits would not be appreciated if we kept her outside full time. Please contact me asap if interested in saving this beautiful, sweet, girl. She just needs a better environment. We are willing to help with traveling needs to relocate he.
