Dear future family, If you're reading this, I want you to know that I have been through some tough times, but I am finally free. My current journey began on the side of the road in rural Georgia. Me and my best buddy were lost and wandering around. Unfortunately, he didn't make it. I laid next to him to comfort him as he left this world. It was there that I was discovered, I was sick. Sicker than I realized, the doggy doctor said the word sepsis and the human that found me seemed worried. Thankfully, I was helped along and I was given to a wonderful rescue in Florida that promised I would recover from being hungry, alone and from having heartworms. I've been in my foster home for a few months now. There are other dogs, a child, and activity here and that makes me happy. I am in love with life and I want to be the center of everything. Now that the doggy doctor here says I'm out of the woods with my heartworms I am ready to gradually begin embracing life to the fullest again. I am looking for a forever family who would foster me until I have tested negative for those nasty heartworms. Things I love: food (I am 27 lbs with the appetite of a 100lb dog), treats, zoomies, snuggling, belly rubs, all people from small to tall, toys! chew bones (which sometimes I don't like to share), walks, bath time, and yes, even going to the vet clinic where I act like a complete ham and win over everyone I meet. I am also crate trained and housebroken, especially if taken out right after I eat. I do need someone to continue to work with me on not pulling on the leash. I currently use a slow feeder bowl because I like food a little too much, so I inhale it if it's in a regular bowl. My foster mom always tells me how smart I am. I sit and lay down on command. I am just so eager to please. If you think you would be interested in learning more about me, please reach out to my rescue. I can't wait to meet you!
