About LUCAS

LUCAS is a 6-year-old, 11.4 pound Shih Tzu surrendered by his owner. He is a very sweet and playful little guy who shouldn't have any problem finding a new home! He will be someone's best friend for life. LUCAS is a super friendly lap dog who makes friends everywhere he goes. He is happy, tail wagging, and kissy and loves going for walks and sunbathing on the patio. He naps with his person and sleeps curled up at night in the bed next to his foster mom. LUCAS loves other dogs and would be so happy to have a similarly sized dog friend that will play with him. He gets along with all dogs and plays well with the dogs he meets in the dog park. His foster mom that feels that he's too needy to be an only dog. Based on his personality we believe he will be kid friendly. We do not know how he would be with cats. LUCAS seems to be housebroken and walks well on a leash. A fenced yard would be great but not necessary if he gets plenty of exercise and outside time, something he loves. He has plenty of energy and definitely needs an outlet beyond a couple of walks a day. He's not a big barker but does bark when he is playing with his doggy friends. LUCAS has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Please remember to check your spam folder for any communication from our team. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally. We do not ship or transport our dogs.
