About STELLA

STELLA is a 5 year old, 10 pound mixed breed (we think Malti-Poo Yorkie) who was found as a stray. She's a wonderful companion who will bring a lot of love, fun, and joy to her lucky family. STELLA is a sweetheart with a big personality. She's very friendly, warms up quickly, and gets along with everyone she meets. She is a true Velcro dog who wants to be wherever you are. At night, she loves sleeping in the bed with her person. STELLA does well with other dogs and enjoys trying to play with them, though her playful energy can sometimes be a bit much for older pups. She especially loves playing with toys and prefers when you join in the fun. She hasn't been around children, but given her friendly nature, we think she would likely do well. We do not know how she would be with cats. Even though she would love to have a doggy playmate, we think she would also be fine as an only dog with lots of attention from her people. STELLA is working on her housebreaking. She knows how to use the doggie door, but she prefers going outside through the sliding glass door and likes when someone is out there with her. She's also learning what the word 'no' means and is starting to catch on. She is a barker-if she hears noises, someone at the door, or another dog barking, she'll chime in-but she's making progress. STELLA has plenty of energy, so she would do best with a fenced yard to run and play in, or with an adopter who can commit to giving her lots of leash walks and exercise. STELLA has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Please remember to check your spam folder for any communication from our team. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally. We do not ship or transport our dogs.
