We are sadly looking for a foster for our kitty Charlie. He was previously a feral cat who was unusually friendly. We started feeding him and it was immediately apparent how lovable he is. He purred while rolling on his back wanting belly rubs. He would come when called. He had an infected wound which needed cleaned out resulting in remaining drain for 10 days. We had Charlie neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, and microchipped. We were devastated to learn he was diagnosed with FIV but, the vet assured us he can live a normal long life, though may be more susceptible to colds and could take longer to heal from wounds. FIV is transmitted via puncture BITES to cats ONLY - not intercourse or other animals / humans. Charlie is extremely docile and submissive to other feral cats in our neighborhood but, was bullied and attacked. Therfore, he should not be let outside. He's almost always in whatever room we are in, loves to play with his toys, sleep in his kitty tree, get belly rubs, and eat of course. All was going great until my boyfriend's son came home for a visit from his first year in college and had a severe allergic reaction to Charlie. Within one hour, his left eye swelled shut and took a week to subside with medications. We knew he had a cat allergy as a child but hoped he would have grown out of it like some of his other allergies. The rest of his week off he stayed at his mom's but she has just permanently moved to Florida so, no longer an option. He will be coming back to stay with us for winter break in December so, we need to find a foster or permanent family for Charlie before then. We are hoping for soon as possible to be sure he is a good fit for his new family. We are including everything Charlie needs including his kitty tree with bed attached, sofa bed, blanket, toys, automatic feeder, water fountain, tidy cats breeze litter box, whatever litter, pads, and Science Diet food we have left. It's very important to us that we find him a home that fits with someone who will love him. He's truly a special, affectionate kitty who deserves the best after going through such a traumatic first part of his life.
