About Ava

Meet Ava! Ava is an amazing and incredibly sweet senior girl, estimated to be around 9-10 years old and weighing about 58 lbs. She's a beautiful, mellow soul who has so much love to give and is looking for a cozy home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by love. This spayed sweetheart is in great health, with just a touch of arthritis that's easily managed. She's wonderful about taking her meds-just hide them in a treat or her food, and she's good to go! Ava is both house and crate trained, quiet as can be, and only lets out a little whine when she's extra excited. She's friendly with everyone she meets-both people and dogs-and while she hasn't been tested with cats, she doesn't show any prey drive. Ava has the gentlest heart and the most loving personality. She adores short walks, belly rubs, and especially ear scratches. She's also the kind of dog who looks to you for reassurance and love-she won't even start eating until she's been petted and told she's a good girl! Her happiness truly comes from being close to her humans (and she wouldn't mind the company of another mellow pup, too). She's not destructive and isn't much into toys-treats are her favorite reward. She'll sneak up and give your leg a little lick every time she walks by, her own sweet way of saying 'I love you.' Ava also does wonderfully in the car, enjoys all grooming, and greets everyone with a smile that melts hearts. Ava is gentle, affectionate, obedient, and a little bit goofy-everything you could ever want in a best friend. She's the total package: Good with dogs, good with kids, great in the car, and the most loving companion you could ask for.
