This Belgian Malinois was found as a stray on Sept. 17, 2025 in O'Fallon, IL. He weighed only 31.5 pounds. He is now affectionately called Bones. He had his 2nd vet visit October 6, 2025 and now weighs 48 pounds. Ideally he should be 55-60 pounds. He is approx. 5 years old and is now up to date on all shots and microchipped. He will be neutered shortly. At this point we believe he was probably dumped but we certainly don't know why. He is so smart and a happy boy but he deserves a chance to be in an active home where he has a job. We already love him and could easily see him as a service support dog, dog sport dog, protection/military dog, or search and rescue dog. He is great in our home and gives the best hugs. Any potential adopter must have experience with the Malinois breed and references. Observations are: He loves adults and has an amazing personality He can be triggered by kids so an adult only home would be best unless additional training is conducted He loves to play but can play rough if you play rough with him He knows basic commands and bonds easily with his person(people) He does pull when walking, especially if kids are around or a bike or jogger go past. We are able to walk him twice a day but he is strong but does respond to correction. Additional training should correct this issue. He is fully housebroken and loves to chew (but only on appropriate items given to him) He loves attention and responds well to praise
