Meet Shinso !! This puppy could be one of the cutest guys ever. He came to use starved and shy but he is really coming out of his shell as he recovers. He is a very sweet and fun dog. Shinso is an approx. 7 month old, male, German shepherd mix. He's very thin still at 30 pounds. He is steadily gaining and should be a medium to large dog when full grown. He will be neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped as part of his adoption. He is Heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. Despite how he has been treated by humans so far he is very open to loving again. He is a shy guy at first but once he realizes you are safe he is all about being with you and very affectionate. It does not take him long at all to make friends. He just needs a few minutes initially to feel safe. He is a smart boy and learns fast. He is behind on some training for his age but he is learning. He is pretty good on the leash. He is great on car rides. He is very good about going into his crate and staying in it but he can be vocal at times. He has also had a few accidents in the crate as he is adjusting to his new schedule. Overall he is still working on the potty training. He understands the concept but is not perfect about it yet. Shinso has been good with other dogs so far he is just a bit timid when meeting them. He was in a foster with cats for a few days. He did not have much interaction with them but did not act aggressively. He mostly ignored them. That could be different once he is fully confident and with cats that run instead of stand their ground. He has not been fostered with kids but we think he would do fine with kids. He is a sweet boy and does not seem to be aggressive about anything. He was very good with the vet for his visit. Shinso is very food motivated and eats way too fast without a slow feeder bowl. He was starved so we understand he may be overkill with food. He so far has not shown any issues with sharing food, treats or toys with humans. He did have a high value treat at the vet and growled when another dog approached. Due to his history of being starved we would advise letting him eat or have high value bones without your pets bothering him. It's best to not have him feel rushed or threatened about his meal time. He currently has a medium energy level. We do expect that to increase as he gets back to full weight and feels more confident and comfortable. This breed can be very energetic and he needs a family willing to accommodate that. He will need both mental and physical exercise each day to be his best self. Shinso has been a very sweet and loving boy. He loves treats, bones and chews. He knows how to sit and due to his high motivation for food he is easy to train. Overall he is a beautiful puppy with a ton of potential. If you're looking for an active companion and don't mind working on his training then he may be the one. Vet and home checks required.
