About Razz

Adoption Fee: $50
Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Razz is a lovely, young, male tuxedo cat who loves both cuddles and play. He is litter-box trained, tends not to climb or jump on counters (though he loves to cuddle on a couch or sleep in a bed with his human), and is a champ with nail trimming. He has a soft, but assertive meow and will use it to get your attention, especially when he wants to be petted. He tends to be brave in new places and acclamate quickly. The first day I brought him home, he slept in my bed with me and never hid once. Razz has a very affectionate personality. He will spontaneously and regularly (several times per day) initiate cuddles. He, like many cats, enjoys wand toys and will chase lazers as well. He also enjoys toys that are fixed on a surface that he can hit around (such as pompoms on the top of a scratching post). Also: do not forget the catnip. This little man is a fan. He responds both to the herb itself and the spray. Razz is also a very brave cat--one of the least skittish I have met. He enjoys naps, a good meal, and play (either independently or with his human). Razz would thrive in a single-person home, or a home with multiple people so he can get the attention he needs. However, he does need humans that can respect his agency and will not pet/hold him when he is overstimulated. In his case, I would suggest a house with adults. Additionally, Razz is a very tolerant cat--he enjoys being carried, and is comfortable with nail-trimming. He also is great using his litter box and does not kick the litter out of the box (which I know is a pet peeve for many). He is fairly neutral to brushing. If anything, he will want to chew on the brush because the texture is interesting. If this is a case, rewarding him with treats for not eating the brush fixes the problem instantly. Despite loving being petted, Razz does have petting agression (usually after 30 minutes to an hour straight of being handled). He does not indicate when he is overstimulated well (he tends not to hiss, growl, swat, or sometimes even back away), so this response can seem sudden. To mediate this, I allow him to come and go for pets as he pleases. As he initiates contact on a regular basis, you will never feel touch-starved with this little man. Razz was just neutered. He does not have a microchip (though I am willing to pay for this), and has no dietary restrictions or medical conditions. As an aside, I am currently scheduling a veterinary appointment for him to get up-to-date for his shots. Because I do not have other pets and am not sure of his vaccination history, I do not know how Razz behaves around other pets. If this changes, I will update this bio accordingly. However, I can say that he can be around groups of humans 3+ and be delighted by the attention. He really is a diva.
