Meet Lola, a one-year-old, 55 lb. pittie sweetheart with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. She came to us after being posted online with the heartbreaking caption: 'Free dog. Need to get rid of her.' We immediately stepped in to save her and since then, Lola has shown us just how incredibly special she truly is. Despite the instability she experienced early in life, Lola is affectionate, smart, loyal, and deeply devoted. She bonds hard and loves even harder. Whether it's cuddling on the couch, getting belly rubs, following you from room to room, or simply resting nearby, Lola feels safest when she's close to her person. Being near you is her happy place. She's friendly and social, and previously lived with other dogs, children, and even a bird. Because she can be enthusiastic and a little jumpy when excited, she would do best with teens and up. She's young, energetic, and thrives on companionship, structure, and engagement. Lola is crate trained, house trained, and very food motivated - which makes training fun and rewarding. She already knows sit, paw, and down. She redirects well and responds beautifully to clear guidance and reassurance. Full transparency: Lola has had a challenging journey. After multiple unsuccessful foster and adoption attempts - and after we learned that much of the information from her previous owner wasn't accurate - some began to focus only on her struggles. She has dealt with leash issues, impulse control challenges, and protective behaviors once she bonds closely with her person. Because of the instability she endured, she also experiences separation anxiety and can be protective of her human. Lola is now in a board & train program and making meaningful progress every single day. She is learning how to navigate the world with confidence, building coping skills, and proving just how much potential she has. With the right leadership and continued commitment, she is going to make an incredible companion. Lola will need an experienced, patient, and dedicated adopter who is committed to continuing her training and giving her the stability she's never truly had. A secure fenced yard of 6 ft. or higher is required, as Lola has jumped fences in the past simply trying to stay close to her people. She isn't 'perfect.' She's better than that - she's real, resilient, and absolutely worth it. With the right person by her side, Lola is going to thrive. Lola's adoption fee is $425. She is vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. If you think you might be her person, please apply at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. Questions? Email [email protected].
