RIO is 8 months old and 7 pounds of pure sweetness and fun! This scruffy little mixed breed loves everyone he meets and greets the world with joy. With his quirky personality and silly antics, RIO is guaranteed to keep his people laughing. He is a snuggler who adores attention, enjoys being picked up, and likes to be loved on. RIO gets along well with other small dogs and would do best in a home with another small dog to play with. He hasn't been cat tested, but given his easygoing nature, he'd likely be fine. He's excited to see kids and would do best with older children who can respect his tiny size. RIO is doing great with potty training and will also use a pad if needed. Because he loves his water, he needs frequent trips outside and still benefits from supervision to avoid the occasional accident. For his safety and so he can continue to learn potty training easily and have a place to burn off some of his energy, we would like him to have a home with a fenced yard. RIO is learning to enjoy toys, especially tug-of-war, and he loves car rides and new adventures. He doesn't bark much, but when left behind, he lets out a high-pitched protest that may not suit apartment living. Crates and pens aren't his favorite, though he will eventually settle in one if needed. He may nibble on something he shouldn't-though he stops quickly when corrected. Loud thunderstorms make him nervous. At night RIO sleeps quietly at night in the big bed, his own dog bed, or even on a pillow and is always ready with morning kisses and cuddles. RIO has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative and has been started on heartworm prevention, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration.
