About Emeko

Emiko is a 3.5 year old German Shepherd. She is sweet and loving. She is house trained and is familiar with the commands of sit, lay down, paw, heel, ignore. She is very good in the home and does not chew on furniture, socks, shoes, etc. She is very sweet with adults and kids of all ages, and strangers walking by or stopping to say hello. I can provide videos if requested. However, she does not get along with cats, which is why we cannot keep her. We attempted to adopt her two weeks ago and have tried to introduce her to our cats by various methods, but it is not working. Additionally, she pulls while walking on a leash and barks aggressively at other dogs, but she only wants to play with them. Because of her size and barking, she intimidates other dogs. She is very strong, and while she does not like the 'Gentle Leader' on, she responds very well to it. She has been neutered. I have some of her vaccination records, and should have all of her records within a day or two from this posting. The original owner claims she is purebred, but is unable to find supporting paperwork. Regardless, she looks purebred and is beautiful. Her perfect home has a physical fence, no cats, and no other dogs until she receives some additional socialization training. I am confident with some training she can be cured of the barking and pulling at the presence of other dogs. I DO NOT believe she can be trained to co-exist with cats, which again, is why we cannot keep her.
