About Skipper

This handsome face belongs to Skipper. He is an Australian Cattle Dog mix who was born in February 2025. Skipper weighed about 23 lbs on 10/1/25 and will likely grow just a little bit more. Skipper is very smart and he already knows: come, sit, drop it. He also knows shake. He goes into his crate on command, and is house trained. He is very food motivated and that helps with his training. Skipper loves everybody, especially kids! Skipper is learning to not jump up when making new friends. He is also learning to play more gently with kids, so is likely best with kids 7 and older. Skipper is good with most dogs, especially smaller dogs. He is learning that bigger dogs aren't scary and does have a bigger dog in his foster home that he gets along with nicely. If another dog wants to play, Skipper will often join in. As for cats, Skipper has seen some cats and is fine if the cat holds its ground. He would likely be fine with herder savvy cats. Skipper seems to enjoy the game of fetch. He does get distracted sometimes, as puppies do, but he is working on bringing it back consistently. Skipper is good on leash and good in the car. He would make a wonderful hiking partner. Skipper is eager, smart, and ready for adventure. Mostly, Skipper is charming and fun. He smiles! When he's getting scratched it looks like he's giving you a cute smile. He is also very sweet. Plus he is up for any adventure his person wants to go on. He is going to be someone's best friend. Skipper is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Southern CA, and is ready to meet adopters who can come here to adopt. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
