Originally bred near Malines, Belgium, they are known for their trainability and drive. Here's a quick overview of the breed: Temperament Proud, playful, and energetic, they enjoy mental and physical challenges. They are not typically gregarious with strangers and can be strong-willed, making them unsuitable for children or the elderly without close supervision. Size: females are 22-24 inches and weigh 40-60 lbs. Coat They have short, waterproof coats that shed year-round, more heavily during seasonal changes. Weekly brushing and occasional baths are recommended. Exercise and training They need extensive exercise and training, making them a poor choice for first-time dog owners. Jobs They excel in police and military operations, and are also used for protection, search and rescue, and drug and bomb detection. Apartment living Not suited for apartments or being left alone for long periods. Popularity They are a popular choice among dog owners and are one of the top breeds used by police departments. We work hard on it being with her toys�'�| however if not watched carefully a cat/kitten/small dog or child could be her new play toy. For this NO homes with cats, small dogs, or young children period. She loves water. Great for walks and car rides. Shes very food and toy motivated and has been very easy to train.
