About Ricky

This is for a dog that I found last weekend. I found this dog running along a street with the leash hanging, a car almost hit him, so I picked him up and brought him home. I have posted in every possible place, put flyers, phoned rescues and shelters, inquired in Wake County shelter, without any luck. I am not sure whether he was lost or someone abandoned him, as I have seen videos of people tying their dogs in some public space and leaving. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats and cannot keep him. I am also running out of time, as I have to travel. I am going ahead therefore and offering him for adoption. This is what I know about him so far: He is a mixed pit bull, barely out of puppy hood, healthy, friendly, neutered, house trained, not micro chipped. He takes treats softly. I give him my hand to play and he mock-bites it by barely touching my skin. Not once he has growled or shown aggressive behavior. He looks at you in the eye (and asks for more treats). He brings you the leash so that you take him out. He likes my dogs, who do not like him back. He is neither dominant nor submissive: My beagle snapped at him and he turned around and kissed my terrier on the ear (and she said Yuck!). He is indifferent to the cats (but the cats hiss at him). He is one cool dude!! He is full of puppy energy, which has become more of an issue because I do not have the time to walk him. We have not been acquainted that long, but he already adores me. All in all, he would be a great pet for someone who can love him back and take some time to walk him or play with him. He is a true sweetheart. I will need vet or other references for adoption.
