X-rays show damage to his hip/femur, and he may need surgery (like an FHO) or ongoing pain management. He is currently on medication to stay comfortable, but the shelter cannot provide the surgery or long-term care he needs. Without a foster and rescue commitment, Scrooge will lose his life. Scrooge is a shy, timid little guy who warms up slowly. He was found with another small dog and was friendly with the finder's 4 small dogs. He even did well around an 8-year-old child, gentle and sweet once he felt safe. In the shelter, he's overwhelmed-often hiding, shaking, or freezing when approached-but he allows handling, carries easily, and takes comfort from calm interaction. Scrooge Needs a quiet, patient foster home where he can heal physically and emotionally.
