Opie was part of a litter found in the woods by a good Samaritan. Unfortunately their Mom was found deceased nearby. Opie had been adopted into a home with 5 children and then returned. The chaos and noise seemed to have made him anxious so now we are looking for a quieter home for him. He warms up more quickly to women initially but will get comfortable with men and will become very sweet and affectionate. Opie also likes to play with toys and getting treats. He can get spooked by sudden loud noises and will look to hide. We are working with him on some resource guarding with food as he does not like it when it is taken away from him. Opie likes other dogs - he will play with them and it has helped him come out of his shell. We do not know how what he thinks of cats. Opie is about 9 months old and 45 pounds. Please help Opie find the loving family he is looking for. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes.
